I have been out of commission for the last week due to a severe dental emergency. Today is the first day that I feel coherent enough to work otherwise I would have posted this earlier. BFC came to me and asked if I would design a new logo for their 2010 tour season. They wanted something simple and clear and wouldn’t conflict with the rest of the clothing line, posters or website. Joshua Montieth, who worked with me on the Luke Dowler video, is also producing a documentary on the tour that looks epic. Watch the teaser here: youtube. I really like the way it turned out and I’m super excited that they are using my logo so much. That is the highest compliment a designer can get. Please support these guys as they travel America.

Posted in BFC tours, portfolio, t-shirt designs on May 12, 2010 by jordanhallandIn 2007 BFC was celebrating it’s ten year anniversary. The theme of everything we did that year was Created to Create, which is also the name of the documentary I made about BFC. We wanted a shirt that showed a multitude of tools used to be creative. After handing the project to a number of designers that did some pretty nice stuff but never really nailed it, I took a stab at it. My idea was to make a kind of mosaic with the pieces being the tools of creativity.
Yes, it is gold foil but remember, this was in 2007 when Gold foil was everywhere and not just on affliction apparel.
This is still one of my favorite designs not because of the end product but because of the memories of that year in BFC. We had so much fun designing the tour, van decals, ten year Banquet, and the BFCDFL tattoo that is on my wrist now.

Egypt
Posted in BFC tours, graphic design with tags BFC, egypt, Skateboarding on November 26, 2008 by jordanhallandOn Sunday I will be leaving for Egypt with six other BFC guys. This is our first international demo. We decided to do more than just skate in Egypt. We collected over 100 unused skateboards to give away to the youth of Egypt. We are still about $2200 dollars from having the whole trip payed off. If you would like to help you can make a tax deductable donation here.

BFC tour update : Chicago, the team at the bean
Posted in BFC tours on August 22, 2008 by jordanhallandWhen you go to Chicago don’t waste your time looking for a Chicago style pizza. If you have had Pizza before you know what melted cheese feels like in your mouth. What you have never experienced before is standing under a gigantic chrome jelly bean. That is breathtaking. Pictures do not do it justice. Just as amazing are the facing fountains that literally change expressions every few minutes. Skip the pizza and go to the park.
